Sen. Cynthia Villar did not agree from the request of some doctors to return Metro Manila to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the number of COVID-19 cases.
According to Villar, the lockdown should not be reversed throughout the region as it will surely hit the economy slowly.
“It is not certain, they will improve their work. The economy cannot be closed because if COVID does not die, people will starve to death, ”Villar said.
Its advice to doctors, just do their job so that the spread of the disease does not worsen.
During this time, she said, it is necessary to persevere even if the situation reaches a tiring point.
If the doctors stop and close the trade, people will not only die from COVID-19 but also from starvation.
The senator stressed that even in her personal capacity, she just gives out face masks and spreads reminders about health protocols.
