‘COVID-19 cases in the Philippines have reached 150,000’ – DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) still recorded more than 4,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the second consecutive day, so the country’s total cases rose to 147,526.

According to the DOH, 4,002 new reported cases are the result of the submission of 93 out of 100 laboratories. Most of them come from here in the National Capital Region which is over 2,000.

Calabarzon followed with more than 600, and Central Luzon with more than 100 new cases of the disease.

83-percent of reported new confirmed cases have tested positive in the past 14 days. Others have been positive since March, April, May and June and have only just been reported.

Meanwhile, the number of healing or active cases is more than 74,000.

The total deaths were 2,426 after an increase of 23. While the DOH reported 1,403 new recoveries, an increase of a total of 70,387.

“Of the 23 deaths, 13 (57%) in August, 6 (26%) in July, 1 (4%) in June, 2 (9%) in April, and 1 (4%) in March. Deaths were from NCR (10 or 43%), Region 4A (5 or 22%), Region 7 (3 or 13%), CAR (3 or 13%), Region 9 (1 or 4%), and Region 10 ( 1 or 4%). ”

According to the Health department, they have removed 225 duplicates from the total case count. These include 12 recovered cases and one death case.

There was also a reported recovery that changed his status after finding out in validation that he was dead.

“These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.”
