MANILA – Robredo’s spokesperson believes that the VP will remain focused on work, despite the continued pressure on her by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“I do not think his attitude will change in this matter,” Vice Presidential spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said in an interview with Viva Filipinas.

This statement by Robredo’s camp is in response to Duterte’s resilience last night against the vice president.

VP Leni criticized the position of Malacanang, which America should pay if it revives the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) in the Philippines.

“The Constitution of the Philippines provides that foreign policy is vested with the president alone…. What policy he wants to issue for the Philippines is vested in the president and not with the senators or the vice president, ”said Duterte.

The president also insulted Robredo’s lawyer because of the issue.

But according to Gutierrez, it is clear that Duterte is just diverting the issue again.

Robredo’s spokesperson emphasized the steps taken by the vice president during the nearly one-year pandemic in the country.

This is even limited to the funds held by the Office of the Vice President for the year 2020.

According to Gutierrez, VP Leni will remain open to issues that need to be criticized.

But he clarified that the vice president will not be limited in praising the government’s measures that really help the public.

Aside from Robredo, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, who first spoke about the Palace’s statement to the VFA.
