Prioritize the 2021 budget in the special session tomorrow, before politics – Palace
The Malacañas distanced themselves from the session held by the camp of Mariqudue Rep. Lord Alan Velasco at a sports club in Quezon City where he was elected speaker of the House.
But Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque reiterated the position of President Rodrigo Duterte that the politics or issue of House leadership should be set aside first and the passage of the 2021 proposed national budget which contains the necessary funds in the government’s response to COVID-19 pandemic.
Sec. Roque, this is the reason and content of President Duterte’s proclamation calling a special session in Congress from tomorrow until October 16.
According to Sec. Roque, the important thing is the national budget and the congressmen will take care of their internal matters such as the issue of speakership after they pass the General Appropriations Bill (GAB).
That is why Malacañang allegedly wants no intramurals to happen tomorrow and the congressmen will only focus on the proposed national budget.
