DOH: COVID-19 deaths over 5,000; total confirmed cases 291,789

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded only 1,635 new COVID-19 cases in the past night, based on the latest case bulletin released by the agency.

As a result, the total number of people affected by the disease in the Philippines rose to 291,789.

This is the lowest additional cases reported by the Health department out of 1,371 cases reported on September 7.

According to the DOH, only nine laboratories have failed to submit their reports to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS). These include:

  1. Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital
  2. Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium (TALA) –
  3. GeneXpert Laboratory
  4. Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital
  5. Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center
  6. Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center (GX)
  7. Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center (RT-PCR)
  8. Taguig City Molecular Laboratory
  9. The Doctors Hospital, Inc. Valenzuela
  10. Hope Molecular Laboratory

“Of the 1,635 reported cases today, 1,435 (88%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 9 – September 22, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (506 or 35%), Region 4A (242 or 17%) and Region 6 (148 or 10%). ”

Meanwhile, the number of those still recovering is at 56,097. Where critics remain at 3.1%, higher than less than 1% last month. Mild ones accounted for 86.4%.

The number of recovered has increased by 450, so the total recoveries are at 230,643. More than 5,000 people have died due to 50 additional deaths. The total is at 5,049.

Of the 50 deaths, 38 occurred in September (76%), 8 in August (16%) 3 in July (6%) and 1 in April (2%). Deaths were from NCR (20 or 40%), Region 6 (10 or 20%), Region 4A (8 or 16%), Region 3 (4 or 8%), Region 9 (3 or 6%), CAR (2 or 4%), Region 5 (1 or 2%), Region 7 (1 or 2%), and BARMM (1 or 2%). ”

Up to 34 duplicates were removed by the DOH in the total case count, of which 21 were recoveries. Two recovered cases were also identified as negative in the final validation.

While 17 other recoveries were replaced by tagging after it was determined that 16 were dead and one was still recovering.
