BREAKING: COVID-19 cases in the Philippines have hit more than 100,000

The total number of confirmed victims of COVID-19 has hit more than 100,000 in the country, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The agency set a new record of 5,032 new confirmed cases, raising the total to 103,185.

Of the aforementioned number of new cases, 2,114 were from fresh cases or confirmed cases whose test results came out and were validated in the past three days.

There were 2,918 late cases or confirmed cases where the test result came out in the past four days, but only now has it been validated.

The number of newly confirmed cases is the result of the submission of 70 out of 94 licensed laboratories.

COVID-19 most recently recorded new cases in the National Capital Region. Specifically in Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Caloocan and Taguig City.

Of the more than 100,000 total cases, 35,569 are still recovering or active cases.

Meanwhile, 301 new cases of recovery were also recorded by the agency so the total recoveries are now at 65,557.

While 20 newly reported died. The total death toll is 2,059.

“There were 79 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, eight recovered cases have been removed. ”

“Moreover, one case that was previously reported to have recovered has been validated to have died and already included in the count of new deaths.”
