5 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today in the Cagayan Valley, bringing the total number of cases in the region to 120.

Details and information on the positive for covid-19 are as follows:

The first case was CV 116, a 35-year-old man from SAN ISIDRO, ISABELA. He is an OFW from Saudi Arabia. Arrived in the Philippines on June 27 and landed in Isabela on June 30. He took a sample for the PCR test on July 1 where the results were positive today. Patient CV 116 is ‘asymptomatic’. He is currently in charge of the quarantine facility of the Provincial Government in Echague, Isabela.

The second case is CV 117, a 49-year-old man from TUAO, CAGAYAN. He is an LSI from Tondo, Manila. Arrived in Cagayan on July 5. He took a sample for the PCR test on July 5 where the result was positive today. Patient CV 117 has been suffering from fever, cough and body aches since June 20. He is now in the care of Cagayan Valley Medical Center.

The third case was CV 118, a 39-year-old man from CABATUAN, ISABELA. He is an OFW from Saudi Arabia. Arrived in the Philippines on June 28 and arrived in Isabela on July 1. He was taken for a PCR test on July 3 where his results were positive today. Patient CV 118 is asymptomatic. He is currently in charge of the quarantine facility of the Provincial Government in Cordon, Isabela.

The fourth case is CV 119, a 26-year-old woman from QUEZON, ISABELA. She arrived in Isabela on June 22. It was learned that CV 119 had a relationship with CV 75, CV 94 and CV 95. She took a sample for the PCR test on July 3 where the results were positive today. Patient CV 119 is asymptomatic. She is now in charge of the quarantine facility of the Local Government of Quezon.

The fifth case is CV 120, a 25-year-old man from SAN MANUEL, ISABELA. He is an LSI from Sampaloc, Manila. Arrived at Isabela on June 19. He took a sample for the PCR test on July 3 where the results were positive today. Patient CV 120 is asymptomatic. He is now in charge of the quarantine facility of the Local Government of San Manuel.

Contact tracing for all possible cases of co-occurring cases is already underway by the DILG and PNP and includes the Provincial Government of Cagayan and Isabela, and Local Government Units, They are in the care of the recovering cases.


Please advise the public to cooperate with our respective authorities in the event that they contact us, as we assist them in their efforts to carry out contact tracing, said the DOH Regional Director.

Continued cooperation with our government and adherence to the guidelines published for our safety is the way we can counteract the spread of COVID-19. We just ask that we continue to take the right steps to prevent infection such as wearing a facemask every time we leave the house, regularly washing our hands or using alcohol or sanitizer, discriminating against people around us especially in humanities or physical distancing, as well as all practices published by the minimum health standards in various sectors of our society.
