Veteran actor and politician Ramon Revilla Sr., passed away at the age of 93

93-yr old ex-Sen. Revilla Sr., hospitalized


Senator Bong Revilla confirmed in his Facebook post that his father, Ramon Revilla Sr., has passed away today June26,2020. at the age of 93.

“After 93 full years, our father former Senator Ramon Revilla, Sr. succumbed to heart failure at 5:20 this afternoon. He is now free from physical pain and is in the loving arms of our Creator.

“Thank you very much for the love and prayers, as we ask for continuous prayers for the eternal repose of his soul,”
Revilla said.

Mang Ramon is one of the pillars of the local movie industry, dubbed “Agimat” because of the roles he played in his films.


Started in the industry in 1952 with “Ulila ng Bataan” and starred in the 1972 film “Nardong Putik: Kilabot ng Cavite”.

Ramon won the FAMAS Best Actor Award in 1973 for “Hulihin si Tiagong Akyat” in which Marlon Bautista’s son also won the Best Child Actor for the film.

1979 when he was awarded the Most Outstanding Actor and in 2011 was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Catholic Mass Media Awards.

They have seven children by the wife of Azucena Mortel, who is a public servant and a student of Philippine film art. But in 2011, a family spokesman said the actor had 72 children with 16 women.

In politics, Ramon Revilla Sr. became a senator. from 1992 to 2004.
