The Department of Health (DOH) has ensured that it supports whatever is best for medical frontliners who are constantly helping the country to stop the spread of COVID-19.
This is after nurses and doctors slapped the national government to subject Mega Manila to a two-week enhanced community quarantine as new recorded cases of the deadly virus in the Philippines reach record-breaking almost daily.
The Department of Health (DOH) has ensured that it supports whatever is best for medical frontliners who are constantly helping the country to stop the spread of COVID-19. This is after nurses and doctors slapped the national government to subject Mega Manila to a two-week enhanced community quarantine as new recorded cases of the deadly virus in the Philippines reach record-breaking almost daily. Mega Manila consists of the National Capital Region (NCR), Central Luzon, CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.
It was not clear if the DOH also supported the frontliners’ call for the ECQ to return to the aforementioned areas.
The recommendation of the medical frontliners is said to be an aid to properly discuss the current issues regarding hospital workforce efficiency, sloppy case finding and isolation, contact tracing, quarantine and many more.
In a statement issued by the health department, it stated that it is necessary to ensure the proper implementation of community quarantines in various areas to protect our health workers.
The DOH also stressed that despite the government’s measures to fight the virus, the public should help not overload the country’s healthcare capacity.
It is open to work with various medical societies and frontline health care workers regarding COVID-19 response efforts.
