More than 368,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been repatriated amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III, it is expected that 50,000 Filipino workers will return to the country after losing their jobs due to the health crisis.

To help with the crisis, the DOLE has provided one-time financial assistance of $ 200 or P10,000 to the affected OFWs.

Apart from this, the department also offered displaced OFWs 21,000 jobs from various job sectors.

The secretary added that 1,900 positions have already been filled while 3,000 more are currently being processed.
